OUR DESIGNER

From a young age Selina embraced designing as her passion and true calling. Growing up in a South Asian family, she drew inspiration from her rich culture and from the women in her family, especially her Chachi (aunt). She fondly remembers watching her aunt in amazement as she created beautiful hand embroidered dresses, which eventually led Selina to hone her inner creativity as an aspiring designer. After completing her MBA, she worked for ANZGrindlays Bank (which later merged as Standard Chartered Bank Ltd), and briefly with the British High Commission in Dhaka.

After moving to England, Selina continued to expand her knowledge of the fashion industry and enhance her artistic capabilities. Brand Chantilly, which she successfully launched upon her return to Bangladesh, was a natural outcome of Selina’s evolution as a designer. Driven by her passion, Selina continued to experiment on different design ideas and themes, holding highly successful exhibitions from time to time. Over the years, she has built a loyal clientele for whom she often makes customized sarees, dresses and shoes.

Her rich exposure to South Asian and European aesthetic appreciation of style has enabled her to blend elements of both and create a style that is uniquely hers. Selina’s work reflects a rare sense of style and a deep thoughtfulness that is restrained and beautiful, while being celebratory and joyous.
